Spent sunset and golden hour at the falls at Pedernales Falls state park. For being a weekend it was relatively quiet and uncrowded which was nice. The rocks soak up that orange light very nicely and it made for a very pleasant evening of walking around and shooting.
It's hard not love those big Texas skies. Maybe it's just what you're used to but too long under the trees and I get to feeling claustrophobic. Or at least I realize that's what I was feeling once I'm out from under them, and free again.
The ease with which beauty can be captured, if such a thing is possible, seems to me inversely related to the intimacy of knowledge and familiarity of that beauty. Seeing something grand and for the first time allows for a kind of shocking awe that renders whatever medium it was captured on worthy of praise. Even if it's not perfect, it's still beautiful.
