Texas Summers

Texas Summers

It's hard not love those big Texas skies.  Maybe it's just what you're used to but too long under the trees and I get to feeling claustrophobic.  Or at least I realize that's what I was feeling once I'm out from under them, and free again.

Graduation in Ft. Worth

Graduation in Ft. Worth

A few shots from walking around Ft Worth.  And one or two from TCU's graduation.

Camille and Gray Launch Party

Camille and Gray Launch Party

I had a great time shooting the arrangements at the launch party for Camille and Gray.  This is a collection of a few of my favorite shots from that day.

A Denver Weekend

A Denver Weekend

Union Station, Denver CO

Got to spend a weekend in Denver, CO and did a little shooting while I was there.  The best shot was the above image of Union Station.  Its a beautiful geometric building in the first place but this lights and train brought it all together.

Also below there is a nice city scape I got at sunset one day.  I had been walking around for a while looking for a vantage point and a few minutes after I got set up, a news crew pulled up beside me to set up for their evening remote.  I guess I lucked into it.

Asheville, North Carolina

Asheville, North Carolina

A quick weekend in western North Carolina.  Ended up being a weekend of shooting waterfalls.

Panther Creek Falls

Panther Creek Falls

A couple of hours north of Atlanta, a creekside hike leads to a really nice waterfall.  I did a solo overnight, so was very over prepared for the five mile hike.  But it made for a quick trip for a night under the stars before it got too cold.  I was hoping the leaves would be better but weird weather and a lot of rain made this year less than ideal.

The Farm

The Farm

The ease with which beauty can be captured, if such a thing is possible, seems to me inversely related to the intimacy of knowledge and familiarity of that beauty.  Seeing something grand and for the first time allows for a kind of shocking awe that renders whatever medium it was captured on worthy of praise.  Even if it's not perfect, it's still beautiful.

The Bourbon Trail

The Bourbon Trail

There is a war on. How is it you are headed west?
Well, we kinda face to the north and real sudden-like turn left.
